PSHE
At Chapelhill Primary, we aim to support every child to become healthy, safe, and responsible members of society. Our PSHE curriculum is primarily based on the SCARF (Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship) framework and is further enhanced by the My Happy Mind programme. We strive to provide children with the essential tools they need to manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop a resilient growth mindset.
We teach PSHE through a two-year rolling programme to ensure comprehensive coverage of the statutory RSHE guidance. Lessons are inclusive and discussion-based, building self-esteem and character over time. Reflecting our school-wide commitment to inclusive teaching, our PSHE provision includes adaptations that ensure all children can access the emotional and social support they need. By integrating SCARF’s holistic approach with the mental wellbeing focus of My Happy Mind, we aim for our pupils to leave Chapelhill Primary with the emotional literacy, self-awareness, and confidence to navigate the challenges and opportunities of modern life.
